It's a gorgeous space that's been renovated and retains beutiful details from its former glory. Plus the windows are extraordinary! Giampaolo was very helpful with reservations and recommendations in Parma (our favorite restaurant was one he suggested for us!), and he took care of us each morning with coffee &amp; breakfast. The apartment was spacious and very clean. Right down the road from the cathedral. There are steps to climb to get to the apartment, but the owner helped us with our luggage. We visited by train and the station is an easy 10-min. walk away so you will not need a car. We stayed for 3 nights and can highly recommend this carefully-restored apartment located in a 16th building that was once a palace. The owner lives in the same building as the two b&amp;b accommodations and he is very helpful in recommending what to visit and where to eat to have the best experience in Parma. We slept very well in a king-sized comfortable bed and enjoyed the large, walk-in shower. Since I have a dust allergy, I especially appreciated the immaculate condition of the room and the polished wood (not carpet) floors. Every morning Giampaolo made us a delicious Italian breakfast on our schedule which he served in the common area just outside our room. He does not speak English well and we do not speak Italian at all, but he had a translation app on his phone which we could use to communicate easily with each other. He was kind enough to phone restaurants for us to make dinner reservations, and he even phoned the apartment owner at our next accommodation (who does not speak English) to clarify arrangements for us to get the key to her apartment. We selected this B &amp; B primarily because of its central location in Parma, but there was so much more. The proprietor is very helpful with questions, and arrangements, particularly with parking. The property is a lovely historic renovated second floor apartment with frescoed ceilings, and a sunny breakfast room. The owner told us how the frescoes were revealed through tedious and painstaking work. The bedroom has a large comfortable bed and the bathroom has a large shower, everything is very clean! Giampaolo, the proprietor, prepared for us a custom breakfast with several fresh fruits, yoghurt, coffee and cornetti etc. The location is quiet where you can enjoy a sound sleep. I do however like hearing the occasional cathedral bells in the morning.
